Weekend with Uncle Johnny....

Uncle Johnny came to hang out with us this weekend. After spending the night at Nana's, Hailey was surprised by Johnny greating her to take a trip to the pool. Hailey had a birthday party to go to for Gracie Nicholson's 1st Birthday. She had a great time, but after being there for 2 hours, she started getting whiny & said, "I want to go home and play with Uncle Johnny!" Funny girl!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAWN!

Today was Shawn's birthday....life sure does change! So much for a nice quite evening to enjoy your birthday! Or even a nice party with all of his friends. Today was a hectic day for Shawn and myself. His manager has been in town all week, so he's working with her today....Tyler's thrush has not cleared up yet, so I took him to the doctor to find out what we can do...we have been given a stronger script so hopefully it works. We have post-poned Shawn's birthday dinner with his mom until Saturday so that he can enjoy himself instead of the chaos of a week night. So for his birthday he is going to spend the evening with 50+ screaming kids at Bible School!! Happy 28th birthday honey!! I promise to make your next birthday more enjoyable!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!

June 23-25th was VBS at our church. The age group was 2-5th grade. I wasn't sure if I was going to take Hailey, but I am SOOO glad that I did! She had a GREAT TIME! The guest speaker was Jesse the Juggler, who is a children's pastor who tells Bible stories while using Juggling analogies. I was so proud of Hailey, as she sat on the front pew, listening so intently. She is such a sponge right now and we are so blessed to have found a church in which she will learn to love the Lord as a child. I must brag, our 2 year old daughter can recite her first memory verse. I'm going to try to video tape it and try to post it....but that requires some time for me to figure out!!! Anyway, she's so cute with her little hand signs that they used to teach it.

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

The theme of the week was Circus & Clowns (hence the guest speaker being a Juggler). Well, Hailey loves the circus & loves clowns, until she gets close to one!! On Sunday morning, she saw all the stickers on the windows, preparing for VBS and she was so excited when I told her we would be coming back this week for bible school. She talked about it all night and all day on Monday. However, when we walked in the door and there were several clowns there to great us, she gave me the death grip! Sobbing that she didn't want the clowns. However, as soon as we got into the sanctuary and she saw Kenna, she was in good spirits, laughing, talking, singing, and dancing with all the kids.

Monday: Lesson about Creation, Learned Memory Verse, Learned 2 songs, Did a craft, Rode a Horse & got popcorn!!!
Tuesday: Lesson about listening to God when He speaks to us, Reviewed Memory Verse, Reviewed songs, Did a craft, Jumped on moon bounce & did a moon bounce obstacle course all by herself!!!
Wednesday: (Daddy's Birthday & Daddy joined us) Lesson about having faith in God, Reviewed Memory Verse, Reviewed songs, Jumped on moon bounce and attempted the obstacle course again, but the Big Clown was there and scared her very much!!!
On Wednesday, Daddy joined us, and when Jesses asked for an adult volunteer from the audience, we volunteered Shawn because it was his birthday. The lesson was on trusting God - just as Isaac and Abraham trusted in God when God sent Abraham to offer Isaac as a sacrifice, but then provided an alternative in his place. Jesse made Shawn believe that he was going to juggle a machette, a grilling fork, and other large blade over his body. He blind folded him and really just used plastic plungers. Hailey was terrified at what Jesse was going to do to her daddy!! But after the demonstration, all of the kids sang happy birthday to Shawn!! Funny how your birthday celebrations change once you have children!Tyler enjoyed Bible school too...for the most part he watched the kids...but he conched out several times too!!
Here is Hailey's trip through the obstacle course. She was tramatized because the big clown was standing right outside, so needless to say, she didn't enjoy this trip through the bouncy....notice her face in these pictures, if you can see it through the mesh walls....
Keeping her eye on the clown beside her....The clown is not giong to get you Hailey! You are ok...Poor girl!!!Other than the fear of clowns, we had a GREAT time at Bible school. Hailey is sad that it's over and can't wait until next year!!
