Who would have ever thought that we'd have to cut a traveling weekend short to come home for church?? And who would have ever thought it would be Shawn's idea? (not that I mind, Honey...just making the observation). This weekend was Shawn's 2 year "Birth"day....two years ago - the first time we heard Alvin Slaughter - Shawn committed his life to living it for the Lord! So two years later Alvin was back at the church and we rushed home to be able to see him again. What a great performer. And what a phenomenal message he gives....EVERY time!!
Well, no pictures to share of Alvin, but that night we returned to church for a Thanksgiving/Christmas/Holiday/Excuse-To-Eat-Jimmy's Crabcakes Dinner. After the dinner, Pastor Mark had asked Shawn to share his testimony of how he found his way to the Lord (or more so, how the Lord put people in his path....) I'm so proud of my husband. I loved the man he was when I met him and I love the man he has become even more. And I love the man that he is going to be as he grows more and more!! The Lord has great plans for us and I'm so excited to see what they are going to be....
So of course had to takes some fun pictures of our kids...cuz we aren't vain!!!!

Oh.....must conclude by sharing Hailey's Turkey story. I was working on the pieces for the craft for nursery. The project was gluing paper feathers and a turkey head onto a paper plate, and then having the kids tell us the things they are thankful for and put them on the feathers. When I asked Hailey what she was thankful for, the first thing she said was, "I'm thankful for Kecky!" Below you can see the final product of her turkey...hopefully you can make out what she is thankful for!

(I'm thankful for Ty & my Mommy & Daddy, & Becky & Uncle Johnny, & Pappy, Nana, Bop, Gram, Mom-Mom & Dad, Dad & my blanky, & for my fishes & doggies.) The first turkey Hailey and I did at home as a sample. The second one is the one she did all by herself at church. Crazy turkey, eh??
